AXIS Communications are set to become ‘leaders in mini innovation’ as they prepare for their April 2011 launch of the world’s tiniest pan / tilt / zoom dome IP camera – the AXIS M5014. As creators of the M5014, AXIS hopes the camera will prove to be a noteworthy development in the need for discreet and high quality security solutions.

The M5014 maintains little differences from the already existing network cameras in the PTZ product lineup – asides from the very obvious differences in size. The camera measures smaller than the palm of most hands at only 13cm wide and 5.6cm high.

Regardless of its tiny appearance, the M5014 facilitates many of the same great features as the conventionally sized PTZ models, including HDTV 720p quality and the ability to reduce bandwidth demands by following the H.264 compression module.

The camera features the ability to cleverly detect unusual audio outside of business hours and trigger an alarm to notify security personnel of the audio disturbances.  It is also said to be both dust and water resistant, making it the ideal security solution in the event that a water pipe were to break or should a fire alarm trigger sprinkler system activation.

Security professionals and video surveillance experts are sure to be eager for the launch of the new AXIS M5014.
